Did you know hat more than 50% of India's current population in below the age of 25 and over 65% below the age of 35 ...On this last beautiful winter Sunday of 2013 the 29th December, let us - The youth and the power of India, together spend our strength, vigour, valour, energy, heroism and spirit towards a more productive, beautiful and colourful tomorrow.
Man even after death, has the power to give life to at least 10 others just by approval of his relatives.
Organ donation is the generous way to pas on one's love for humanity. It is clear way to extend the life of our beloved, but departed soul. Be compassionate and respond. In India annually
around 2,00,000 people require organ transplants. Shockingly,
not even 1% is available. According to statistics, as many as 603 deaths are registered in India every hour. If their relatives had sufficient awareness and agreed to donate at least one organ of the diseased, it would be of great help. Our scriptures and sages acknowledge organ donation as Virtue ( Punyam), a act of love.
Let us create awareness to our near and dear. Join us on the walk for a change. " Together we care for our country and culture. Let's give a better send off to 2013 and a divine welcome to 2014.
The walk conducted last year in Hyderabad witnessed 12,000 students participated from 121 colleges. Walks conducted in other districts like Warrangal, Visakhapatnam, Vijayanagaram, Srikakulam, Kakinada, Rajahmundry, Rajam, Mandasa, Nalgonda, Karimnagar, Manchiryal, Nagarkarnool, Kodada, Vijayawada and Bhadrachalam The event was also conducted at Chennai, Bangalore and Raipur.
As a result the organ donation increased as under
- Year 2012 organs collected 93, donated 12
- Year 2013 organs collected 156, donated 35
